Juichiya Restaurant kitöne is a restaurant and café operated by Juichiya, a long-established confectionery company founded in Yamagata in 1804. It is located in the Nanokamachi district of central Yamagata City, overlooking the historic Gotenzeki waterway.
Guests can enjoy Western-style dishes prepared with seasonal ingredients from Yamagata in a bright and relaxing interior featuring the warmth of natural wood. One of the restaurant’s most popular dishes is its soft and creamy omelet rice served with homemade beef stew sauce.
For dessert or an afternoon café break, try Juichiya’s soft-serve ice cream, which has been enjoyed locally for more than 60 years, or a cake and drink set featuring cakes from the adjoining confectionery shop.
The restaurant is approximately a 20-minute walk from the east exit of JR Yamagata Station and is a convenient place to stop for lunch or a café break while sightseeing or shopping in central Yamagata.
